Renee
Linnell has more than twenty
years of multifaceted and eclectic background
and training in diverse styles of dance
including: Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Afro-Caribbean
Jazz, Hula, Latin, Ballroom, and Argentine
Tango. She has belonged to both the University
of California at Irvine and the Jacksonville
University dance departments where she
graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double
BS in psychology and dance. Her schooling
included training in: choreography, injury
treatment and prevention, technique analysis,
body mechanics, anatomy, kinesiology,
teaching methods, dance history, lighting,
costume design, set design, directing,
nutrition for dancers, and performing.
A
classical Ballet dancer for twenty years,
she is now dedicating most of her time
to dancing and teaching Argentine Tango
and Salsa. She speaks Spanish fluently
and has taught and studied social Latin
dances in Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru,
and Argentina. After living off and on
in Buenos Aires over the last four years,
Renee recently bought an apartment in
the city and continues her own tango education
in Buenos Aires every two months in order
to provide the best tango instruction
in Southern California.
